Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how HK Infoway ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with the Calc ± Smart Widgets mobile application ("the App") on iOS and Android.
The short version: Calc does not require an account and does not collect personal information such as your name, email, or contacts. All calculations happen on your device. We collect only anonymous usage statistics (via Firebase Analytics) to improve the App, as described below.
Information We Do Not Collect
The App does not require registration or login. We do not collect, store, or have access to:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or contact details
- Your calculations, inputs, or results
- Your precise location
- Your photos, contacts, or files
- Advertising identifiers (the App contains no advertising)
Your preferences (such as number format, default units, and default tool) and your calculation history (a Pro feature) are stored locally on your device only. They are never transmitted to us.
Purchases and Subscriptions
Calc Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We do not receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or Apple ID / Google account information. Purchase management, billing, and refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective privacy policies:
Currency Exchange Rates
When you use the Currency converter, the App requests current exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API (exchangerate-api.com). This request contains no personal information — only the standard technical data involved in any internet request (such as your IP address), which we do not log or store. All other converters and calculators work entirely offline.
Analytics
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used — for example, which calculators and converters are opened most often — so we can improve it. Firebase collects anonymous information such as:
- App interaction events (screens viewed, features used)
- Device type, operating system version, and app version
- An app-instance identifier (a random ID tied to this installation of the App, not to your identity)
- Approximate region derived from IP address
This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. We do not collect or see your individual calculations or inputs. Firebase is operated by Google LLC; you can read how Google handles this data at https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
Advertising
The App contains no third-party advertising and does not use advertising identifiers or tracking for advertising purposes.
Children's Privacy
The App is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. Because we collect no personal information from any user, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, and other laws)
We do not collect or store personal data that identifies you, so in most cases there is no personal data for us to access, correct, delete, or port. Analytics data we receive is anonymous and aggregated. If you have any privacy question or request — including under the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA (California), DPDP Act (India), or similar laws — contact us at the email below and we will respond promptly.
Data Security
All preference and history data remains on your device, protected by your device's own security. Rate requests to our currency provider are made over encrypted (HTTPS) connections.
Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy — for example, if a future version of the App adds a feature that handles data differently — we will update this page and revise the "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted in the App's update notes.
